It has finally happened! Joaquin Phoenix’s Joker has surpassed Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool and Deadpool 2 to become the highest-grossing R-rated movie of all time. We’ve seen with Avengers: Endgame, how James Cameron used social media to wish the team in a quirky way.

This time around Ryan Reynolds posted a photo to wish Joker its achievement. He shared the very famous Joker dancing on the stairs poster on which it was written as ‘You Motherf****”. It has the lead names of all the highest-grossing R-rated movies. He captioned the image: “R-Rated box office congratulatory posts aren’t like the ones you’re used to.”

Joker now stands at a grand total of $1.16 billion at the worldwide box office, and has surpassed Deadpool’s $1.14 billion and its sequel’s $1.15 billion.

The movie is directed by Todd Phillips, who has previously helmed Hangovers series. Because of showcasing violence and mental illness, the movie received quite negative criticism from a certain section of the media. But it has been breaking records since the time it was released. It also became the biggest October international opening of all time.

Before it premiered in the US, American military personnel received special and restricted instructions to keep a tab on the Dark Web. Security was tightened outside the cinema hall.
