Review

If 'friendship is a new madness', then get ready to go for a crazy ride with four BFFs who reunite after seven years, in the Nivin Pauly- Siju Wilson-Saiju Kurup-Aju Varghese movie. A simple comedy flick that celebrates friendship, Saturday Night is filled with colorful funny moments, unresolved conflicts, failed romance, and also some cringe moments.

Stanley, Justin, Ajith, and Sunil are best friends since childhood. However, there are differences of opinions, conflicts, and ego clashes. As they decide to go for the 'WTF' (Wednesday, Thursday, Friday) party followed by the Saturday night fever that Stanley has been planning for a while, they realise, no more friendship is left between them and they forever walk off from each other.

Seven years later, Justin meets Sunil at his office in Dubai and gets into a legal issue. To prove his innocence, he promises his officials that he will go back to India and return with Sunil. He never knew, he will be welcomed with a bundle of surprises and life-changing events in Mysuru.

The Rosshan Andrrews directorial written by Naveen Bhaskar is comedy movie that belongs to the reunion genre, resembling films like Romy and Michele's High School Reunion and Zindagi Na Milega Dobara. However, the interesting storyline loses its depth onscreen. Maybe more crisp edits would have helped avoid the loose ends. At times it is superfluous and redundant.

Also, at certain times, the movie's making is Hollywood-like and then comes back to 90's funny movie feel. The pace of the film does go with the mood of the movie. Nevertheless, Nivin Pauly, Siju Wilson, Saiju Kurup, and Aju Varghese give the audience a laugh riot through their hilarious chemistry. Grace Antony once again steals the show with comic timing, spontaneous reactions, and fabulous acting skills. Some beautiful moments in the movie would make the audience want to get the gang back together.

The movie is all about the power of a friendship which is magnified by the power of the soundtrack. As the four friends dance together to Jakes Bejoy's music, all those who miss and enjoy moments of camaraderie with their buddies will definitely feel like dancing along.
