Review

If you are looking for entertainment without focusing too much on the rationale, Nachindi Girl Friendu will work for you. The film follows a time pattern similar to the Indian stock markets, showcasing a tale of love, stocks and crooks. Most of the action takes place on the road. Ram is supposed to take his buddy Cherry (Madhunandan) in time for the interview, and they head out. From the world, Raja’s dialogues and mannerisms ooze confidence and subtle satirical humour. His interactions with Cherry make for some rib-tickling moments. Once these bachelors meet Sandy, our boy, Ram, proposes to her, which turns into a cat-and-mouse game. While incessant following behind a girl might come across as cringe, it works only when viewed in a lighter vein. All the fun the lead pair seems to be having to try to win over each other takes a mysterious turn once Sandy comes out from a meeting with her boyfriend. The second half turns into an action-packed thriller with the revelation of the mysterious man and his motto. Stocks, scams and greedy crooks turn this romantic love story into an action thriller.

Uday Shankar, as Raja, comes up with a convincing and confident performance. Some might take a few minutes to get used to his style and then flow with the vibe. Jenifer Emmanuel as Sandy will swoon the audience with her bold, beautiful, glamorous performance. Madhunandan, as Cherry played an important supporting character, aids in producing humour. Suman as Mukesh, Srikanth Iyengar as Krishna Pandey, Prudhvi as the police inspector, Saurav Lokesh as Vikram Roy, and Gayatri Bhargavi as social media influencer/mother and others played their characters well.

While there is plenty to cheer for in the film, there is also enormous scope for improvement - The rationale behind some sequences, continuity issues in the screenplay and action sciences could have been better.

Director Guru Pawan and the crew tried to give this film a fresh and youthful vibe by experimenting with its overall treatment – appealing cinematography by Siddam Manohar, sleek editing by Sagar Udagandia and EDM-infused classical music by Gifton Elias.

Overall, Nachindi Girl Friendu, directed by Guru Pawan and featuring Uday Shankar and Jenifer Emmanuel, is a youthful, entertaining thriller if you can look past the rationale in some sequences.
